TERM & CONDITIONS:
1. Students must use their student ID to tap on /off when boarding the Charter Bus
No manual entry is only allowed for new students in Term 1
2. If a student’s ID card is not working, you must contact IT, who will check it.
3. You must organise a replacement card if you lose your card.
The cost is $9.50.
4. It is preferable that students are at their designated bus stop at least ten minutes
before the bus departure time.
5. Seat belts must always be worn, and all the other road laws must be obeyed.
6. Students are expected to behave safely and responsibly whilst travelling on the
bus.
7. Parents/Guardians are required to give 30 days’ written notice to advise the
cancellation of the College bus service.
8. Parents must inform the College in writing requesting a change to a student’s
travel arrangement via buses@nazareth.vic.edu.au.
Changes will take 3-4 days to be active in the system.
9. The bus fee is debited to your school account by semester and is non-refundable
10. Non-payment of fees will result in no access to the bus service.
11. The full cost for the semester becomes due and payable if a student ceases bus
travel without notice.

Please note that this is a paid service; therefore, if you have not completed an application for the bus service, you are not allowed to board the service.
NAZARETH BUS SERVICE:
Nazareth College offers subsidised buses to assist families in transporting their child(ren) to and from school. Families wishing to use the College bus service should complete and submit the Nazareth College School Bus Application Form annually. The service is available to students at Nazareth College who wish to use the bus full-time throughout the school year. Your bus application is valid for 12 months and must be renewed by the closing date the year before required.
Our Bus routes will vary each year to meet the needs of our passengers.
BUS PASS:
Students will use their school student ID card. The student ID card must be used when boarding and exiting the bus to and from school. In the case of a lost card, replacement cards can be ordered. The cost is $9.50.
NAZARETH COLLEGE EXPECTATIONS OF STUDENTS USING THE BUS SERVICE:
Students must always carry their bus pass when travelling on the Nazareth College Bus.
This must be used upon boarding and exiting the bus.
Nazareth students are expected to be courteous and polite to the bus driver and fellow students.
Students should remember that when travelling on a Nazareth College Bus, they are ambassadors for the Nazareth community and, as such, should always positively represent the College and are expected to wear their uniform correctly and with pride.
Code of Conduct
The Passenger Code of Conduct Policy is a standard by which we expect our passengers to conduct themselves when travelling on a Crown Coaches bus.
What you are required to do:
The following Passenger Code of Conduct Policy sets out acceptable standards of behaviour for all passengers travelling on charter and school buses. Passengers are expected to follow these rules for the safety and comfort of all passengers and drivers, including themselves. If the rules are not followed, it may lead to the withdrawal of travelling on our vehicles for subsidised travel or banning passengers from travelling on buses. Every student is responsible for behaving in a manner that ensures the safety and comfort of passengers and drivers. This includes:
Passenger Code of Conduct:
Students will obey the instructions given by the bus driver
Students must always use their student ID to tap on and off when using the bus.
No other ID is accepted.
No manual entry is allowed.
Do not lend your pass to other students or borrow a pass.
If a student ID is lost or misplaced, a new one can be arranged for $9.50.
Students are to behave following the college’s policies and procedures.
Students are to be respectful to all and always communicate in a polite tone of voice.
Students will not push or shove other students.
Students will not scream or use inappropriate language.
Students will not bully or harass other passengers or the driver.
Students are to respect all staff working on the bus operations.
Students will obey the instructions given by the bus driver
Students must remain seated and wear seat belts whilst travelling on the bus.
Students must travel on their assigned bus. This means they are NOT allowed to change buses without parental written permission. Changes take 3-4 days to be active in the system.
Students must ensure their school bags are on their laps or under their seats and any other belongings are not obstructing the aisle passage.
Rubbish from food, drink, or gum will be taken with you.
Students will be responsible for the cost of repairing any damage caused to the bus.
Appropriate use of phones is required whilst travelling on the bus.
Students who breach any rules will be issued a warning before being removed from the bus service.
Safety on and near buses:
Obey reasonable directions from the driver (e.g. where to sit or to remain on the bus);
Remain in your seat – do not move around the bus unnecessarily.
Keep bags and other items clear of the aisle.
Do not allow any part of your body to protrude out of the bus at any time.
Wait for the bus in a quiet and orderly manner – including at bus interchanges.
Stand away from the roadside until the bus comes to a complete stop.
Wait until the bus stops before moving to get off the bus at your designated stop.
Wait until the bus leaves the stop and you have clear vision before crossing the road.
Cross the road where and when it’s safe to do so, use crossings/traffic lights where available.
